Aaron Cresswell
8 games in and I wondered what people's thoughts are on our exceedingly good new left back? Haven't seen many threads for the lad.
I've been impressed. Keeps running all day, excellent left peg, some of his crossing is top drawer.

He seems to have a good attitude too, and goes about his business without any fuss. With our new midfield formation, the width provided by the full backs has added importance and Cresswell is definitely putting his hand up. Bit concerned as to what happens if he gets injured? Not sure JOB as a right footer or young Potts offer anything like what Cresswell does in attack?

Haven't seen enough of him so far defensively (says a lot about how well we're playing) to be sure what he's like when we're under the cosh? This weekend will be a real test for him this weekend against Navas or Nasri. Not sure he's really had a winger going at him yet? Looking forward to see how he gets on.

Re: Aaron Cresswell
Well happy with him. Needs a full season behind him and not worried about being stripped by walters, he's got a lot to learn and he's just the sort of player we need, young, hungry and can't wait to play

Re: Aaron Cresswell
He's on a learning curve, but was disappointed to see him torn a new one by Jon 'championship' Walters at the weekend. Talk of an England call up by some on here is premature. As someone else has said, he needs a full season in the top flight before we can make a proper judgement.

Re: Aaron Cresswell
Does look good but he has cost us a few points this season, gave the ball away for spurs' goal, took a weird throw in at hull for Diame's goal, and bad defending against whoever that silly old bastard at Stoke was

Re: Aaron Cresswell
there have been a few threads about him, even so its hard not to be impressed, bad game against stoke, but then again none of the, were great. i expect him to continue to improve and challenge baines and shaw for the LB slot in the next couple of yesrs

Re: Aaron Cresswell
Has been at fault for a few goals this season for not blocking crosses etc but, he is still young and has massive potential. Exactly the sort of player we need to be buying and integrating into the first team. Better than what we've had previously and obviously better than anybody knocking around the youth sides/reserves.

He will develop into a very good left back.

Re: Aaron Cresswell
Bertrand & Jenkinson both been capped for England, don't see why Cresswell couldn't reach that level if he keeps going the way he is

Re: Aaron Cresswell
Cresswell is a player that can play for west ham for a good few years and not look out of place but that's it. No top 6 player. No international.

Re: Aaron Cresswell
Tyrone Mings is also looking SUPERB in the Championship.

He'll be at a top Premier League club this Summer, if not in January.

Re: Aaron Cresswell
I actually think that with Gibbs, Shaw, and Cresswell in contention to take Baines place, England are pretty well off for left backs (forget Rose and Bertrand)

If only we had a decent amount of centre backs to choose from.....

Re: Aaron Cresswell
You don't think Baines is any good?

Righto

Re: Aaron CRESSWELL
he would be the first to say he fucked up against Stoke no doubt about that , all part of the learning curve at this level , BUT a big step up on what we have had over the last few years and will improve im sure .

Re: Aaron CRESSWELL
His distribution needs work at the moment, lumps it aimlessly long too often for my liking. Defensively looks reasonably solid though

Re: Aaron CRESSWELL
Cressy is a little way off England IMO, let him prove it over 38 games

Re: Aaron CRESSWELL
I never mentioned rose.

Baines, Gibbs, shaw, Bertrand I don't even think they're any good but they are better than cresswell.

Ron, I was meaning to ask you.

How is Ochoa doing?

Re: Aaron CRESSWELL
Not really Ron, just laughing at the stats of Danny Rose being better than Cresswell. No need to be paranoid mate, I'm leaving you alone don't worry.
